Cuisine: Thai

Nestled on Looney's Cross in Bishoptown, you'd have to be a looney not to pop into Camile Thai, where everything, from award-winning Thai food and Irish tofu, is served.

It's an understated little eatery with casual canteen vibes. Leave the glad rags at home and opt for your comfy wardrobe – you're going to have to loosen your belt anyway!

You can't come to Camile and not try their signature Camile Rolls; these tasty parcels come stuffed with your choice of crispy vegetables, hoisin duck, salmon or chicken. For mains, Thai curries line the menu. The massaman, Chiang Mai and classic green curries can all be customised to serve two hungry diners and there are just as many (maybe more!) vegan and vegetarian curries.

Going noodles for noodles? Fear not! Choose from their range of stir-fries and noodle dishes that are complete with meaty accompaniments like crispy chilli chicken, beef and Mekong duck. What's more, if you're counting the calories there's a whole menu packed with dishes under 600 calories. There really is something for everyone!

A really enjoyable evening food and staff amazing “i’ll Be back”

Very good quality food. Tasty and good portion size. Will definitely return.

Camile Thai is bright, clean and airy. The food is cheap and cheerful, fresh and plenty of it too!!
Staff were welcoming and helpful, we had a great meal and enjoyed everything we ordered, my only comment would be that the chee chu curry had a 3 chilli rating and I thought it was pretty tame, I should have asked for extra spicy.

I love this restaurant. The food is excellent. Staff are really lovely and it was made so much more enjoyable by having only to pay half price!

My husband and I ate at Camile Thai for the first time on Friday evening. We didn't know that there was no table service and we were sitting for a while before we realised that we had to go up to the counter to order. A sign over the till would help for first time customers. I saw another woman do the same thing.

We ordered starters and main courses and were surprised when they were all served together. That's all very well for takeaways but it would be nice to get the courses served one at a time as we were eating in.

I had the spice bag and Camile's Fried Rice Chicken Special which were both excellent, especially the Fried Rice. My husband had the Crispy Chicken and Spicy Chicken Wings which were really hot and spicy and very good.

The staff were very nice to us and apologised for the fact that they didn't see us waiting for them to take our order.

The atmosphere is casual - it is more like a fast food place than a restaurant. I think the very bright lighting and open kitchen make it feel like that.

Overall, it is very good quality and value and I think we will be back soon.

Camile Thai is a great place to eat. Its self service but the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and very fresh. I had chicken pad thai and I highly recommend it. The restaurant is bright and very clean. I will certainly return to this restaurant.

I was very unhappy with the food and service on this occasion. I got pad thai chicken and had to return it as there was practically no veg in the dish. It also didnt come with peanuts which I also had to ask for. They were happy to take it back to add more veg though. However the dish was very greasy and not appetizing. Also the used dishes from the previous customer were on our table throughout our meal. I would be very slow to return to this restaurant.
