Cuisine: A La Carte, Irish
Price Point: Mains from €20 - €35+

For confident, classic food in Cork city centre, look no further than Jacques…

A local institution that has been in operation for almost 40 years, it is known for its polished service and cosseting atmosphere as much as its excellent food.

Over their four decades of operation they have built up an excellent network of local suppliers and you won’t find higher quality ingredients anywhere in the city.

Start your meal with a selection of international-inspired small plates such as stuffed mushrooms and monkfish curry, before moving on to elegant mains executed with aplomb. Wild hake with lemon and fennel butter showcases Ireland’s excellent seafood while lamb rump with salsa verde is our pick from the land.

The wine list is constantly evolving but always focuses on small producers. Sink into the comfy banquette seating and prepare for a gourmet experience to savour.

Great experience, lovely atmosphere, super staff. The ingredients and flavours were superb. One of the best steaks I've had out!

My wife and I have lived in Co Cork for almost 4 years and this was our first visit to Jacques Restaurant and our first reservation through First Table.
We arrived early and enjoyed drinks in the bar whilst considering our menu options. The service from the moment we were escorted to our table was friendly and informative, and of the highest standard. We have a couple of challenging food allergies which were expertly handled and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and pichets of wine.
Jacques Restaurant can be highly recommended, particularly with the First Table discount taken into consideration, and we are looking forward to many more visits in the future

It was the first time for all of us eating at Jacques. Delicious food, prepared to a very high standard, lovely interior and atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!

Food was lovely. I went for the risotto for starters and the gnocchi for main - two of my favorite dishes and both were delicious. Husband went for soup and hake and was very happy with both. We went for the shared desert which was the perfect end to a lovely meal.

We were three and we decided to try out First Table. We decided on Jacques in Cork. None of us had eaten there for a while. Lovely Ham Croquettes for two of us and the most delicious Mozarella salad with strawberries for me. I definitely chose the better. I think my friends were in agreement. Then we had the lamb(medium), hake and lobster. All beautifully presented and freshly prepared. Washed down with a lovely bottle of white wine. Two deserts of ice cream and home made biscuits. One tea and one coffee. The bill came to E120 including a tip. In so early was a bit of a rush but to be home for 830 was great when there’s work the next day. A lovely evening, great company, lovely atmosphere. And the 50% off was appreciated by us al. Will definitely try this again. Thank you Jacques.

We dined in Jacques Restaurant on Wed the 15th. From the time we arrived and were shown to our table we were made to feel very much at home. The different members of staff we spoke to were all top class and very helpful. They answered our questions about the menu ,they suggested a short break between courses if we wanted it and were just what was needed for a nice night out.The food was marvellous the tastes were sublime. The chef obviously has great pride in what he does. From the first courses of Summer Risotto with sea trout and West Cork Crab and then our main courses of Lobster Pasta and Rump of Lamb we delighted in eating every single bite. We would strongly recommend all of the above courses. After a short break we had the desert sharing plate and loved it.Jacques also have a great drinks menu , we tried the Muscadet and it was very good.Jacques food was the nicest we had for a long time and we would strongly recommend it.

Really enjoyed the experience. Service was brilliant and I have to say the vegetarian dish was far better than some I had in vegetarian restaurants.

Had a lovely meal at Jacques last night. Setting was nice and the food was fantastic. Also great to see all the locally sourced ingridients.
