Meadow. Sea. Fire. These are the three most important words at Prado; it's all about locally sourced food, cooked over an open fire and served next to the sea.

This cosy bistro has everything you need for a memorable night out. It's modern and classy with a touch of urban edge to keep it rooted in no-nonsense Dublin. If you're looking for a sweet date spot, look no further.

Straight from the shimmering ocean is the chargrilled octopus, king and queen scallops and Galway Bay mussels to kick off. Honestly, if you're looking for fine seafood, you've hit the motherload!

Move on to their dry-aged beef burger or fire-roasted chicken supreme. There are four delectable cuts of steak to choose from as well as vegetarian options like the sweet potato and celeriac bake. If you feel like sharing, tuck into the whole chargrilled fish that changes daily! That's right, the Mediterranean has landed in Dublin!

My wife and I had a great evening dining at Prado on Saturday evening with a couple of friends. Although it’s a bit out from the city centre, it is worth the trip. The restaurant itself, is a mix of a Steakhouse, Spanish Tapas and local Irish Cuisine. We got a great table beside the kitchen where we could see all the skilled chef’s at work at the wood fired grills. We were treated like royalty (William and Kate as opposed to Harry and Megan) from the moment we set foot in Prado. Although it got very busy in the restaurant during our dinner, the staff kept everything under control and the standards did not drop at all.
As for the food, it was top class. Even for the one vegetarian between us, there was a great selection of options. We all got starters - Salt Baked Beetroot and Crozier Blue Croquetas x 2, Free Range Chicken and Iberico Morcilla Terrine, and Galway Bay Mussels and Cockles. We were all very happy with our choices but the winner was probably the Mussels. For Mains, two of us shared the Steak Special – an 80 day aged Teeling Whiskey Tamohawk and we also got the Burger and Andalusian Chickpea and Spinach Stew. We also got a few sides to accompany our meals (Sweet potato, Patatas Bravas and Baby Potatoes). The steak was amazing – probably the best I have had in Dublin. Although we got two sauces to accompany the steak, the whiskey flavour was so nice we didn’t need the sauces. Also, it was sign of the quality of the food when they even asked how we wanted the burger cooked – most restaurants, just serve a burger cooked one way (usually well done). We finished off a great meal (although we could barely eat any more) with a selection the desserts from the menu – Sundae, Cheesecake, Poached Pear and the Churros. We also had a really nice bottle of French Cab Sav with our meal.
All in all, we had a great evening in Prado and will definitely eat here again in the future.

The first thing to say is the welcome and service was outstanding. Newly refurbished with comfortable seating. Mother96yo and I shared a bavette steak, one of a number of sharing mains. Tasty but a bit chewy was mama’s verdict. Excellent poached pear desert. The second one tried was a banoffie eclair with Valrhona chocolate sauce. Nicely balanced. Choux a little overdone. Would definitely go again. Neighbouring table likes house red. Tried Zani Valpolicella ripasso ourselves 49€ - well balanced wine

The food quality was excellent and the staff were very knowledgeable re menu, service excellent
Would like a bite more choices re Fish on menu

Divine! Every morsel of every course was absolutely delicious. I cannot heap enough praise on this restaurant and our experience there. The staff were all wonderful, attentive, friendly and helpful. I had a cocktail on arrival expertly and lovingly prepared by the truly delightful barman. The menu is wonderful, well considerered and different. Each dish and course took time to arrive, which I love as it means it is being prepared fresh for each customer (you can see the open kitchen and the chefs at work), it also gives time to savour the plates and be ready for the next course without being rushed. I had a side salad for starters and it was wonderful, plentiful and so fresh and delicious. My husband had the prawns, he raved about them. We both had the venison for main, which was sublime. The accompanying items and sauce were perfect and there it was a generous portion. We eat quite a lot and it can often be disappointing or equivilent to what you could cook at home but this was just the best meal we have had in a restaurant in as far back as we can remember. We spent most of the main course talking about how delicious each and every mouthful was! I can't say enough good things about it! We shared a dessert of sticky toffee pudding, again - utterly delicious, so many layers of flavour and spice- rather than just overly sweet, which made it interesting and even more enjoyable. Again, this course was not rushed onto us and we left feeling so happy and cannot wait to go back again. Ambience is lovely too in the restaurant and it was a real pleasure to be there. Bravo Prado!

A friend and I attended for dinner this evening and the experience was fantastic. The wait staff were so attentive and friendly. We had water on our table within seconds of sitting down, and it was continually refilled without us even having to ask. They checked in to make sure we were happy with everything, but we're not obtrusive. They sought feedback on the 'smoked mash' special for the chef. The staff really were excellent and added to our experience.

We shared starters of 'Mussels and Cockles' and 'King and Queen scallops'. The scallops were fantastic and the coral sauce was well balanced and tied the dish together nicely. The one criticism of the meal was that the Mussel and Cockle sauce was quite spicy and although it was nice, we probably would have chosen something else had we known this based on the menu description.

For mains we both had the fillet steak which was cooked to absolute perfection. The meat was so tender and juicy. We shared the charred sweet potatoes, rocket and manchego salad (which was so well seasoned for such a simple side) and we asked for a side of the smoked mash which was supposed to be served as a special with the fish of the day. The smoked mash was absolutely the star of the show and should be added to the menu as a regular side. It was so different to anything we had ever tasted before and we both loved it.

For desert we shared the churros and the ice-cream sundae. The churros were so fresh and came with a selection of dipping sauces. The ice-cream sundae had pieces of beautiful moist chocolate cake in it, and the only criticism was that we would have liked a bit more ice-cream in it.

I could not recommend this place more highly. The decor is absolutely beautiful and it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were impeccable and were beaten only by the quality of the food they served. I cannot wait to go back!

There were four of us reserved on the first table and we were immediately shown to a nice table on arrival. You can see into the kitchen and the flaming barbeque looks great.
Only my wife was having wine tonight and she selected a Montepulciana house red which she said was very nice. I had a sparkling water and the lads had soft drinks which all arrived very quickly. I had the goats cheese starter which was very tasty and filling, Pauline had the Piri Piri prawns which were hot, spicey and just right bite texture.
The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times.
All of the four main courses were very well presented and tasted great. We had burger, monkfish, steak and a pork loin. Portions were just right size and everybody complimented the sauces with their dish.
I had an apple and almond tart for dessert which was beautifully moist and yet crumbling pastry and came with a scoop of very creamy delectable ice cream. The lads had two different ice cream dishes which I sampled and were also both magnificent.
All found we all agreed we had a great meal in Prado. Food is absolutely delicious and the ambience is cool.

Really nice experience at Prado! We had the scallops and prawns to start and then one of the sharing steaks. All delicious, steak was a bit chewy but to be expected given it was a flank cut. All the staff were very friendly and we weren’t long waiting for our food. We didn’t have any cocktails but the ones coming from the bar to other tables looked tasty!

Very Friendly staff, Food was very tasty, however there wasn't many vegan options for main which lead to a very restricted choice. There was no vegan dessert either unfortunately. This could have been forewarned if I had looked at the menu before deciding tot got the restaurant however. There was an issue with our bill at the end but it was rectified immediately.
