This was my second time at this restaurant and it was as good as the first. Delicious food, fab menu and lovely warm atmosphere. Highlight was my orange & rhubarb fool honeycomb dessert, so unusual. Will definitely be back!

Even the threat of a hurricane couldn't keep us away from another exquisite First Table experience at Darwins. From the minute we were warmly welcomed by Dolores and her team, we felt we were among friends. Our table in the wooden ship-styled space, was perfect. We shared the rich and creamy mushroom and wild garlic risotto to start and the main event was two fillet steaks, one with surf. Cooked to perfection and every mouthful a treat for the taste buds. The mash and spinach were perfect companions and a delicious bottle of Portuguese Reserva was the icing on the cake, so to speak. However, there was no room for cake or any of the other delightful desserts but there is always next time. Thanks to all, we will be back.

We have eaten here a twice and consider it one of the best steak restaurants in the city. This time we decided to stay away from the steaks and try something different. the carrot soup with lemon grass, coconut milk and coriander was delicious. then we opted for the chicken and the catch of the day. The chicken was soft and moist, really lovely. The fish was John Dory served with prawns & polenta with a rich sauce. It was a beautiful plate of food perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. The service as usual in this restaurant is 10/10.

Darwins is such a hidden gem. The steak rivals Shanahans 100%. The staff are all so attentive and charming. Can genuinely say it is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin.

I always passed by Darwins and I knew what a good place just by people telling me - but I thought it has nothing to offer for me - I thought it is a pure steakhouse with zero vegetarian options.

And here my friends arrived from New Zealand - the home of First Table where we all used to use the website to try out new places. And we went to Darwins. Guess what - there are so many vegetarian options i found it very difficult to choose. I had a vegan steak it was amazing! My friends had quinoa wellington and fillet steak they were so happy. We were so full.
This will be a definitely recommendation for those who have veggies and meat-eaters in the group and want to keep everyone happy.

Wine pour list is great. Malbec is a super nice one!!!

Thank you Darwins staff as well for letting us to sit for a bit longer and have a chat.

Will be definitely coming back and recommending to everyone who asks about a good place to eat - I do get this question asked a lot.

Darwin's was by far one of the best dinning experience in Dublin. We went there twice in the last two weeks just to convince ourselves that the first time wasn't just luck.
We had 5 starters between 4 of us because we couldn't decide what we wanted so we tried all of them.
Prawns are amazing, the risotto is creamy, and the pork belly juicy.
For mains we had steaks, and I need to say is the first time that my steak was so big that I couldn't finish it.
The girls went for fillet and the boys had T-bone, all cooked to perfection.
Dolores and the team offer us an amazing experience, we definitely gonna go back very often.

What can i say about Darwins. Its just the best. The end.
But really, from the moment you arrive you're treated like you're the only one there. You are escorted by friendly knowledgable staff, from here you know the experience will be wonderful. I’m a big fan of their wine menu and its served with aplomb, and with some beautiful breads. We had a starter of prawns, simply delicious. Then the main event, it’s Darwins, it has to be STEAK. I go to a happy place here, all is well with the world. It has always been perfect for me and tonight was no expection, but the mash deserves a special mention. We didn't have desert, it was a perfect meal as it was. Thank you Darwins, thank you.

Had a great experience here, there were three of us dining and we were all happy with our meals. We shared the prawns and a selection of fresh bread with dips to start. For mains we all had steak with a few sides between us. All the steaks came with mash and sauce which they had noted on the menu you could ask for more of, it was nice to see that they are making an effort to reduce food waste. We then shared a brownie for dessert which was delicious. The service was brilliant all night and there were no issues with the first table vouche. Will definitely be back!

Took my bf here for his birthday - Darwin’s was excellent ! Great service and food. Starters -we went for prawns and calamari - prawns were in lovely mild spiced sauce and calamari was fresh and crispy with no chew on them Steaks were cooked beautifully and all sides were delicious ! Service was super - friendly attentive staff - no issues with using voucher - very smooth !
Will be back !

Service was fantastic. Meat was tender and juicy, but there was just a small issue: light bitter taste of old oil burned. I would still return back and give another try. The service and the meat quality are worth it.

Absolutely the best steak in Dublin. Every aspect of the meal was cooked to perfection. The service is one of the best I have experienced, from the warmth and friendliness of the welcome we received to the attention of the waiting staff. Lovely comfortable setting and judging from the interaction between staff and diners they have a lot of loyal return customers. I can easily see why!

We booked Darwins for 4 of us last Thursday evening and had a really good quality, tasty meal. We all had starters and main courses and it couldn't be flawed. My mum and partner had the risotto for starter, my dad had the peri peri prawns and I had the tomato soup, all excellent. I had the vegan steak for mains but I have no idea what everyone else had because frankly my meal was so delicious I couldn't keep my eyes off my plate. All I know is there was not a spec left on any of our plates. Would definitely recommend.

The food and service were excellent, as always! Will be planning a return visit soon.

We had a fantastic dinner at Darwin’s. We brought our 5 month old son and were welcomed warmly and seated at a table appropriate for his buggy to sit beside us. The wait staff were attentive & friendly and the food was delicious. As a vegetarian & carnivore couple Darwin’s ticked all the boxes. We’ll be back!

Best steak I've ever eaten, easily. We had soup and risotto to start, the soup was lovely, the risotto seemed a little overcooked but lovely all the same.
Service was fantastic, very attentive and helpful with the choice of meats. The mains were amazing, we had a T bone steak and an Angus Striploin and both were cooked to perfection and served with the creamiest mash ever. We finished with a warm brownie with ice cream and coffee, and even got a baileys on the house upon paying. I can't rate this place highly enough, and can't wait to return!

Best steak I have had in ages. Great services - see you very soon!

Amazing dining experience, the interior is very old world classic; soft lightning, lovely chandeliers and beautiful murals on the wall. The service was impeccable as always.

The prawns for starters were cooked perfectly and very tasty, the piri piri sauce could do with a bit of a kick though. The bread they serve is fresh and still hot from the oven, absolutely delicious, it definitely left us wanting more!

The steaks were amazing as always, cooked to perfection and such flavour! Darwins is definitely a contender for the top steak spot in Dublin. Even the mash served with it was creamy, delicious and hot. A real bug bear of mine is food not served hot but fear not as everything came out piping hot in Darwins!

The wine menu is a credit to them, a full range and prices to suit all budgets, I am totally in love with Portuguese wine at the moment and the lovely red I picked did not disappoint, spicy, warming and delicious.

I cannot wait to return, I definitely will not leave it as long next time.

I went here on Monday evening with 3 friends to celebrate a friend's recent engagement. We got starters, mains and dessert. Every single plate of food was delicious - presentation and flavour. As a vegetarian, I was very happy with the menu selection. The staff were also lovely and welcoming/accommodating. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
