Just to the left of the pink door in the blue house lies Dublin’s best-kept secret. Blink and you might miss this nifty little tapas bar which treats diners to endless Mediterranean nights under the light of a dozen lanterns…
Tucked away on South William Street, Ibiza at Mercado 52 is just one door down from the main Mercado restaurant. Occupying a cosy corridor between two buildings, Ibiza has a truly unique setup. A single line of tables is nestled between the walls, providing the ideal intimate setting for anyone with those first date nerves. And thanks to the soft glow afforded by a chorus of gorgeous lamps, the romantic vibes are plentiful!
In short, it’s a dreamy setting to enjoy their sharing menu. First up, the tapas that have got the whole city talking. Seafood is dressed up to the nines with the chilli prawns, fried calamari and tuna tartar, and you’ll also find divine meat dishes, like the lamb stew, that packs a whole lot of flavour into a small dish.
To have on the side, it has to be a Pintxos. These tasty bread bites come with anything from Manchego cheese to white anchovies and Spanish black sausage. Finally, the crushed grapes come into force with full-bodied wines from Spain. Alternatively, if you fancy something a bit more poppy, a jug of sangria is never a bad idea…
