Grounded on a sustainable philosophy that keeps the establishment's environmental impact to a minimum, herbstreet's interior is suitably minimalistic, preferring to keep things open and casual with cosy bistro tables that enjoy resplendent waterfront views. They're effortlessly cool and trendy whilst giving the food and views room to speak for themselves.
It should come as no surprise that herbstreet takes a seasonal approach to ingredients, meaning that their menu changes regularly. For a taste of what's to come, their November menu features Moules Frites with mussels from the bay in a white wine sauce, pan-fried Irish mackerel with a puy lentil casserole and a weekly pasta that incorporates the best of the seasonal crop and is served with moreish garlic bread.
They're also no strangers to delicious pub fare. With an organic turkey, beef and veggie burger on the menu, diners are invited to arm themselves with plenty of napkins, dispose of all table manners and get fully involved with these towering yums. And when it comes to pudding, classic crowd-pleasers like New York cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding rule the roost, and no one is complaining.
