A temptress with an alluring personality to keep you coming back for more, Opium is one of the most spectacular venues in Dublin.
Split over three floors, Opium is not one to shy away from variety and aims to keep it fresh and exciting with an interior design that keeps even the most adventurous guessing. Rich in colour and texture throughout, find the space that most resonates with you, be that their opulent Botanical Garden that turns into a late bar after dinner, the hideaway snugs in The Crafty Fox bar, or the family style booths in their ornate restaurant. And whilst you're there, you might as well wait until Opium's evening performances kick off which never fail to attract Dubliners from far and wide.
The venue itself is fully immersive, and so is the food. Serving a taste of the East with influences from Thailand, Japan and Vietnam, the menu goes off with a bang with starters like 'dynamite' prawns, sweet, sour and spicy chicken wings, and Vietnamese rolls with your choice of filling. You could even start with some fluffy bao buns that conceal intoxicating fillings like slow-roasted pork belly, five-spice duck and tempura sea bass.
As for mains, they're turning it up a notch with wok-fried spicy Irish beef, crispy pork belly with a mountain of morning glory, pad prik, and slow-braised Massaman curry with lamb and baby potatoes. Of course, no menu is complete without the holy trio; put simply, the red, yellow and green curries are to die for. And with warming soups and broths from Vietnam and Thailand, there's plenty to rejuvenate you if you had a late one the night before!
