An authentic and sensory izakaya bar in Dublin, Yamamori Izakaya is a feast for all the senses.
In Japan, Izakayas are social eateries, in which a handful of people will sit at a bar and eat tasty small plates. At this eatery it's no different, except they have expanded the concept to include a whole range of bistro tables to accommodate their extinguished guests. Dressed to impress with countless funky neon lights, paper lanterns, disco balls and even a light-up bar, Yamamori Izakaya calls Shinjuku - the brightest district in Tokyo - it's home.
Staying true to the izakaya philosophy, the menu is jam-packed with tasty sharing plates. First off is the sushi, serving melt-in-the-mouth sashimi, the highlight being the most-coveted bluefin tuna. Other than that, feast on freshly made nigiri, rolls and sushi chef specials, including bento boxes, that are perfect for a quick bite.
For other tasty bits, order in some Japas (that's Japanese tapas if you didn't know) and decorate your table with crispy tempura, Osaka-style octopus balls, soba noodles, gyozas, unagi and the most esteemed wagyu, presented as sliders, sliced into a carpaccio or served sizzling on a hot stone. Authentically Japanese through and through, Yamamori Izakaya is a slice of glittering Tokyo in the middle of quaint Dublin.
