Here for food, for fun, for friends, Luigi Malones has called Dublin home for almost 30 years. Now, it's enjoying all the revelry that makes Temple Bar so special.
Luigi Malones has an intriguing history in Dublin that has made it a landmark in the city today. Established in Stillorgan in 1997, Luigi's then moved into the 13th century building in Temple Bar that it calls home today. Split over 2 floors, Luigi's has really made a house a home with a modern fit out that merges Italian bistro design with contemporary elements. Blue booths contrast nicely with the exposed brick walls giving urban vibes, while the coveted window seats offer great views over the neighbouring street and manage to instill intimacy in this bustling location.
So, that's the 'fun' and the 'friends' part of their motto, but what about the food? Say hello to seasonal, classic and experimental pizzas, each one as delicious as the last. This month they're serving up calzones that ooze with goat's cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach when cut open. They're also keeping it hot with the Hot! Hot! Hot! that lives up to its name with smoky chorizo, spicy n'duja and fresh chilli. And if you also think that pesto is the besto, you'll love its pesto sauce base topped with artichokes, caramelised onion and crema di balsamico.
Of course, no Italian menu is complete without pasta and they're giving it all with blue cheese gnocchi, short rib ragu, spaghetti carbonara and homemade ravioli. But if that doesn't tickle your fancy, you're welcome to get messy with Irish beef, buttermilk chicken or vegan burger. A restaurant with just about everything up its sleeve, it's no secret why Luigi Malones is a culinary icon in Temple Bar.
