Ukiyo

Ukiyo is a seriously sleek restaurant where contemporary Japanese flavours come to life.

Located in Dublin’s creative quarter, Ukiyo has been a destination for the city’s beautiful people since it opened in 2004. A recent refurbishment of its downstairs lounge has seen it transformed with moody lighting, Dj decks and mid-century-inspired furniture.

Ukiyo means ‘Floating World’ in Japanese and is derived from Ukiyo-e woodblock prints – an original Japanese art movement that celebrated innovation, tradition, excellence and beauty, and their menu can be described in the same way.

Enjoy ocean-fresh sushi and sashimi, as well as spicy stews, ramen, katsu and teriyaki meats, the majority sourced from independent, Irish producers. The cocktail list is equally exotic, ranging from a refreshing starfruit gimlet to Ukiyo's very own "shisho tasty", made with gin, lemon, kumquat syrup and egg whites.
