Overview

A seriously sleek restaurant where contemporary Japanese flavours come to life.
Located in Dublin’s creative quarter, Ukiyo has been a destination for the city’s beautiful people since it opened in 2004. A recent refurbishment of its downstairs lounge has seen it transformed with moody lighting, Dj decks and mid-century-inspired furniture.
Ukiyo means ‘Floating World’ in Japanese and is derived from Ukiyo-e woodblock prints – an original Japanese art movement that celebrated innovation, tradition, excellence and beauty and these are all buzzwords for the menu.
Enjoy ocean-fresh sushi and sashimi, as well as spicy stews, ramen, katsu and teriyaki meats, the majority sourced from independent, Irish producers.
The cocktail list is equally exotic – perhaps the starfruit gimlet will take your fancy or the shisho tasty (gin, lemon, kumquat syrup and egg whites)?
Whether looking for a memorable spot for a date or a chic spot for a night out with friends, Ukiyo will not disappoint.
