The Boxty House

Gallagher’s Boxty House, in the historic heart of Dublin, is a warm salute to Irish heritage and hospitality.

Everything is made from scratch - from handcrafted boxty and freshly baked bread to signature house recipes. The setting is cosy and convivial, where generous plates meet easy chat.

On the plate, tradition shines. The Gaelic boxty wraps tender beef medallions in a pepper sauce with mushrooms, while Atlantic seafood chowder brings a fresh and smoked catch with mussels and treacle bread alongside. Carlingford oysters arrive bright and briny, lifted by shallot mignonette and a punchy horseradish Marie Rose, while shepherd’s pie - with slow-roasted lamb shoulder beneath buttery mash and rich gravy - is comfort defined.

Sides get the same care: colcannon with cabbage and kale - fried pickles with spicy mayo - fries either simply seasoned with rocket aioli or finished with Parmesan and a roasted pepper and basil dip.

For dessert, classics take centre stage, from sticky toffee pudding with burnt orange caramel to a soothing bread and butter pudding. From lunch to dinner, artisan refreshments and a bustling events calendar keep spirits high.
