The latest addition to The Port House clan is the Eustace Street branch. Offering something new to the capital's diverse dining scene, this eatery focuses on delicious tapas paired with Pintxo's fruity fizz. Now, with 5 branches to its name, it's time you came to see what all the fuss is about.
Boasting a rustic charm that keeps the soul warm in winter and inspires new adventures in summer, The Port House treats diners to a space inspired by Spain's bustling bistros. Exposed brick walls embrace the minimalist dining room which lets dynamic interior design do all the talking, Communal benches provide the perfect opportunity for group dining whilst cosy corners are filled with more intimate tables if there's a date to be had. And the bar? Well, that's where all the magic happens. More on that later.
First, the food, and with a whole menu for meat-eaters and vegetarians, there's a treat in store for everyone. Have fun with all the different offerings. Mix and match salads with crispy croquettes and small plates like pork loin, frilled Nacarran chorizo sausages and Spanish black pudding. If meat isn't on the agenda, opt for the oozing deep-fried Tetilla cheese, Spanish omelette or chickpea stew. If you prefer your own plate, there are individual dishes that serve up big flavours. From slow-cooked confit duck to traditional meatballs to chicken skewers, Catalan cannelloni and, of course, paella, this is soul food through and through.
Finally, at The Port House, wine is equally (if not more) important than the food. Giving Pintxo a new lease of life, these Spanish-produced bottles are carefully chosen to give your evening just the right amount of fizz. For afters, the sherry comes into play, ending your supper on an irresistibly sweet note. And with a wine list as long as an Irishman's vocabulary of slang, there's plenty to choose from.
