Spice of India on South William Street sits in the heart of Dublin 2’s Creative Quarter, just off Grafton Street. The room is small, warm and happily busy; a proper city‑centre Indian where the hum of conversation meets the crackle of the tandoor from lunch straight through to late dinner.

Here, cooking is resolutely to order. Tandoori dishes travel straight from the clay oven to the table, carrying that unmistakable smoky kiss, while curries are built one pan at a time, layered with fragrance and patience. Expect comforting classics and bold spice: butter chicken as silken as it should be, tikka masala with gentle sweetness and lush body, and a confident flicker of fresh chilli where it belongs.

Starters set the tone with onion bhajee that leans into caramelised edges and a proper crunch, alongside meat samosa and vegetable samosa delivering warming spice in flaky parcels. For something heartier, beef bhuna brings depth with onions, tomatoes and methi leaves, while beef chili masala answers with brightness and bite.

It is the sort of place that rewards an unhurried appetite, whether ducking in at noon or lingering late. Pull up a chair, follow your nose, and let Spice of India do what it does best: turning hunger into happiness, one pan at a time.
